Disney

We could have chosen from a growing handful of MCU instalments for this entry, as the studio have wisely begun hiring the irreverent likes of What We Do in the Shadows helmer Taika Waititi to helm their lighter fare. Combining kinetic, inventive, and funny action sequences with stellar performances and a touching story of antihero misfits banding together to take on an oppressive evil, Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy takes a loveable cast including the likes of Bautista and Zoe Saldana, adds a mixtape’s worth of vintage rock, and turns it into a fun-filled thrill ride well worth a (re-)watch.
