15 Best Supporting Characters In MCU Movies So Far
8. Yondu
All it took was for Peter Quill to have to kill his biological father after he tried to terraform the universe for him to realize that Yondu was the real paternal figure in his life all along.
James Gunn always had Michael Rooker in mind to play Yondu, and after watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time you completely understand why. Rooker's gruff, 'I ain't takin' no sh*t' attitude is just as suited to leading a gang of intergalactic bandits like the Ravagers as it is acting as the reluctant surrogate father to an unappreciative kid from Earth.
The character comes full circle in the sequel, with Rooker giving the best performance among the cast by a country mile as Yondu struggles to come to terms with the multitude of bad choices that he's made before making the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the man he'd come to view as his own son, leaving many audiences in floods of tears in the process.
