15 Films That Hated London

9. GI Joe: Retaliation

The Synopsis - Fast And Furious 5 reinvigorated a flagging franchise by introducing The Rock to proceedings, and the producers of GI Joe: Retaliation hoped to do the same in the sequel to their 2009 film. Starring as Roadblock, Rock is pitted against Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), who is masquerading as the President of the United States (Jonathan Pryce) on behalf of the villainous Cobra Command. Discovering this in tandem with a small team of Joes, which grows to include General Colton (Bruce Willis), he fights their plan to control the world through the exclusive possession of orbital weapons of mass destruction. The Destruction - Several films have blown up chunks of London. Several have decimated famous landmarks. None, however, have depicted its complete obliteration in a visual fashion similiar to GI Joe: Retaliation, where Zartan opts to have the entire city destroyed with one of his weapons as a mere show of force to other world leaders, who he has blackmailed into nuclear disarmament to prevent them from opposing his organisation.
