The Movie: Demon Knight has the distinction of being the first film adaptation of HBO's Tales From The Crypt. The film follows an assortment of individuals, led by a mysterious stranger, who must fend off a horde of monsters in a remote boarding house when the Collector, a vicious demon disguised as a man, comes to retrieve a mystical artifact that has the power to open the gates of Hell. The Scenery-Chewing Performance: Billy Zane was never as awesome or more electric than in his role as The Collector, a wisecracking minion of darkness. The actor's fleet-footed, Cheshire cat charm is on full display in a performance that helps set the tone for everything else around him. If every actor enjoyed every role half as much as Zane enjoys this one, movies would never be boring. He spends the entirety of the film dancing effortlessly in and out of sanity in various stages of tacky attire. His six-second summation of the entirety of cowboy culture alone would be worth the price of admission. He simply makes this movie.
