Rubbish: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones
What more is there to say about Star Wars? Well, quite a lot if Disney have their way, given the new home of Lucasfilm have made no secret of their desire to milk that intergalactic cash cow for all it's worth. But this needn't be a bad thing, so long as they continue to meet the standard set by The Force Awakens, which has quite deservedly become the third film ever to break the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office.
And as we all know, the bar was in dire need of lifting on the Star Wars franchise. Whilst the third and final of George Lucas's prequels, Revenge of the Sith, stood head and shoulders above the previous two films, it still wasn't enough to wash away the stink of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, which suggested the series creator had lost almost all sense of what made his creation work in the first place.
Just as well Lucas's involvement is now minimal, if not non-existent: in Kathleen Kennedy we trust.
