15 Most Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movie Performances

10. Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice)

Easily the most controversial performance on this list. It's hard to tell if it€™s because Jesse Eisenberg consistently plays entitled douchebags or, as hinted at in many of his interviews, is an entitled douchebag but here he is playing yet another, you guessed it, entitled douchebag. I€™m terrified that this is going to become a casting choice akin to Topher Grace as Venom because Lex Luthor is not the type of cat to wear Chuck Taylor€™s. He€™s a suit-wearing, steel chinned man€™s man who represents the pinnacle of human development. Luthor may not be able to physically ruffle any of Superman€™s feathers but he at least looks like he can. His true power may lie within his mind but he€™s not Mark Zuckerberg: Luthor isn€™t one to rock a top knot and Instagram photos of new his dream-catcher tattoo. From what we€™ve seen in the trailers, Eisenberg is channeling less of the Luthor that we know and love and more Willy Wonka. This performance is hotly anticipated because people are chomping at the bit to create memes making fun of it. However, it's plain to see why they've cast Eisenberg as this new interpretation of Lex. He plays a convincing megalomaniac who is more than competent at manipulating people (The Social Network, Now You See Me).
