15 Movie Titles That Blatantly Lied To You
12. This Film Is Not Yet Rated
What It Suggests
That this film is not yet rated. Pretty simple stuff.
The Truth
The film - which is about the Motion Picture Association of America's rating system and its effect on American culture - has actually been rated several times.
Initially, the MPAA gave it an NC-17 rating, because it featured "some graphic sexual content," because the film-makers had chosen to illustrate the kind of material that would see an NC-17 rating applied. Director Kirby Dick appealed and the final cut is not rated.
But it still is in Canada, where it was given a 14A rating and in the UK, where the BBFC gave it an 18 rating. The ruddy spoilsports.
