15 PERFECT Scenes In Otherwise Disappointing Movies
8. Escape Room: The Third Room
In fairness, Escape Room is one of the better movies on this list, but considering its outstanding premise and talented cast, it should've been stronger. Sadly, Escape Room does largely lose its way towards the end and it was also hampered by a PG-13 rating.
Still, it's not without its moments and the escape rooms themselves largely deliver, especially the third one. The third room is an upside-down billiards bar where bits of the floor fall down into a deep shaft periodically. In this most dangerous and hard-to-navigate of rooms, the five players have to solve a complicated puzzle in order to escape.
This makes for a genuinely magnificent set-piece that's murderously, palm-sweatingly tense and beautifully filmed. It's a suspense masterclass and it's still absolutely baffling that not only such a great scene, but legitimately one of the best movie moments of 2019 so far, could come out of an otherwise forgettable low-budget PG-13 horror flick.
It's hard to imagine they'll be able to top this in the upcoming Escape Room 2.
