15 Problems Only Film Fans In 2016 Would Understand

1. The Fact That Gods Of Egypt Even Exists

There were few films released this year more astonishingly terrible than Gods of Egypt, a woefully inept fantasy misfire starring Gerard Butler and that handsome bloke from Game of Thrones.

The fact it actually exists, was made for an obscene $140 million, stars talented actors and got released theatrically is all extremely baffling when viewing the end product.

Irony can sustain a film so much, and to that end Gods of Egypt is a highly entertaining production, if atrocious on any "serious" level.

The fact it's a real Hollywood film and not a South Park-produced parody or something we dreamt up in a collective fever dream beggars belief, and proves that as risk-averse as studios are, they're not beyond making some barmy mistakes for our accidental entertainment (but going by the paltry box office, not our money).

What movies and cinematic trends left you the most conflicted and bemused this past year? Shout them out in the comments!
