As anyone who's ever listened to a movie commentary or watched a behind-the-scenes featurette probably knows, effects-heavy movies hammer out a lot of the hard work on huge render farms with hundreds of computers linked in tandem to process complex CGI.

Even with the insane computational power of modern render tech, though, The Jungle Book's charming bear Baloo had such detailed fur that it reportedly took close to five hours to render a single frame of the movie featuring the character on-screen.

The insanely convincing results of course speak for themselves, but even so, that is an absolutely crazy amount of time considering how much Baloo appears in the film.
