4. The Plot Of Toy Story 3 Is Loosely Based On An Early Idea For The Original Film
The plot of the third Toy Story movie is loosely
based on an early treatment for the original film, back when Tinny was still
being considered as the main character.
The early idea for the first movie would have seen Tinny get lost at a rest stop and be discovered by a garbage man who throws him into the back of his truck. He would then meet a ventriloquist dummy, the original design for Woody, and the two would end up at a pre-school, as the gang did in Toy Story 3.
Obviously the plot for Toy Story 3 did have to be significantly adapted by the time it was released, but the filmmakers did give a little nod to this original treatment with Tinny appearing on the cover of a magazine in the 2010 movie. Tinny also made a cameo appearance in Toy Story 4 in the antique store.
