4. The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist (June 10, 2016)
The Conjuring was one of the best horror films of the past few years, and a sequel to it has a lot of potential. Following paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, what's great about a potential Conjuring franchise is that there's no need to stretch out the same story into multiple movies. The Perron family doesn't have to be back this time.
Instead, every Conjuring film can just be about the Warrens investigating a new case, so it can almost be like an anthology series with the Warrens being what connects all the stories.
The sequel will follow the real life case of the Enfield Poltergeist, a supposed series of hauntings that happened to a family in Enfield, England in the late 1970s. At the time, Ed Warren said he witnessed the 11-year-old daughter levitating in midair, and he concluded this was a case of demonic possession.
James Wan will thankfully be returning to direct the sequel, so with the same director, writers and leads, there's a lot of reason to be hopeful that The Enfield Poltergeist will be just as good as the original Conjuring.
