15 Worst Comic Book Movie Villains Of All Time

3. Lex Luthor - Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Played By: Jesse Eisenberg

Gene Hackman's version of Lex Luthor was good (if a little comically leaning), while Kevin Spacey's was even quite compelling in a boring film, but Jesse Eisenberg's hyperactive, petulant dot com magnate-child was about as far removed from either as humanly imaginable.

In Eisenberg's hands, he became an annoying, twitchy manchild - way too influenced by his earlier performance as Mark Zuckerberg. And while it might have been a good idea for that to have simply been a gimmick for appearances - hiding an ice cold evil within - he just didn't have a secondary layer.

In retrospect, it feels like Eisenberg thought he was actually playing the Riddler - for which this performance might have worked - but he definitely wasn't right for Luthor, and this Luthor wasn't right for a DCEU movie.
