15 Worst Comic Book Movie Villains Of All Time

12. Poison Ivy - Batman & Robin

Bane Poison Ivy Batman And Robin
Warner Bros.

Played By: Uma Thurman

Joel Schumacher really didn't do very well with his Batman villains. His Riddler was good (and massively over-criticised, it has to be said), but Two Face was no more than a clone of Jack Nicholson's Joker, Mr Freeze was a quip-spewing atrocity (more of which later) and Poison Ivy was fiercely frustrating. His were nothing like the heady days of Burton's villains.

Just as he tried to copy Nicholson for Tommy Lee Jones' split personality baddie, Schumacher also seems to have been intent on cloning Burton's Catwoman for Poison Ivy. She was a similar sultry sexpot, mixing seduction with fighting, but rather catastrophically, he replaced Michelle Pfeiffer's darkness with an awful camp tone for Uma Thurman.

Her motivation - to kill humanity to hand over the planet to plants - works well as a supervillain plot, but she the fact that she teams up with another villain who wants to freeze the entire world (rendering all plant life also dead) makes no sense at all.
