11. Galactus - Fantastic Four 2: Rise Of The Silver Surfer

Whoever it was who decided that using the classic purple-clad look of world-eater Galactus in the Fantastic Four sequel really ought to have been fired when they presented the concept. He might not be as iconic as the likes of The Joker, but as Marvel villains go, there are few that rank as highly as Galactus and messing with him so fundamentally was a crime.

In place of his usual look we got an angry sentient cloud - a chance that turned a God-like malevolent force into some bad weather. It was a trade-down in cool too far, and is rightly considered one of the worst ideas in Marvel comic book movie history.

Presumably, the idea of a gigantic humanoid figure standing larger than planets and eating then was just too silly for a film that literally included a superhero dance-off...
