15 Worst Months To Go To The Movies Since The Year 2000
6. August 2007
Number Of Movies Released: 20 Rotten Tomatoes average: 38% Number of Movies Receiving Lower Than 40%: 14 The top six months of this list is where things really start to get ugly. Twenty movies were released in August 2007 and half of those movies had less than 20% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a month where the sole bright spots were The Bourne Ultimatum and Superbad. Otherwise, this was an excruciatingly bad month for film. It's hard to believe why Hollywood thought some of these movies were a good idea. Bratz: The Movie, Underdog, Daddy Day Camp, Balls of Fury... seriously, what were they thinking? Balls of Fury was actually the best-reviewed film of that bunch (23%); meanwhile, Daddy Day Camp has the rare distinction of receiving 1%, with only 1 out of 77 critics giving the film a positive review. The website later ranked Daddy Day Camp 16th in its list of the worst reviewed films of the 2000s. While Rush Hour 3 saw the long-awaited return of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, with Tucker returning to film after a six-year absence, the overwhelmingly negative reviews suggests that perhaps Chris Tucker should have just stayed retired.
