15 Worst Movies Of 2015 (So Far)

6. Unfriended

Unfriended Movie
Universal Pictures

Rotten Tomatoes: 61%

Just because a film is so consciously committed to being clever in its presentation doesn't mean you should ignore the fact that it is terrible. Artistic merit isn't the same as entertainment factor, after all.

But nobody seems to have told that to the fans of high-concept horror Unfriended, which is testament to the Millennial capacity for base-level distraction. Of course a film that takes place entirely on a computer screen would dazzle the generation who spend more time scrolling slack-jawed through social media than they do valuing actual stories.

It's not scary, it's not particularly innovative and it's so tied to the current moment that watching it again in a couple of years will render it as horribly dated as if somebody had made a film about a killer fax machine. Not that that even seems to matter either to the film-makers or the audience who paid to see it.
