11. Philip Seymour Hoffman Dies Of A Drug Overdose
On February 2nd, Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment at the age of 46, caused by "acute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamine". Hoffman's body was reportedly found with a needle sticking out of his arm. The news was absolutely devastating to any serious film fan, all the more shocking because Hoffman had recently completed a stint of rehab and appeared to be on the mend. His relapse began during a wrap party for The Master, where he had a drink, and this apparently led him down the path which caused his untimely death. Much discussion was also made about what would be done with his role in the final Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay Part 2, though it has since been confirmed that CGI won't be used, and his dialogue would instead be given to other characters.
