18 Upcoming Villains Who Will Be More Interesting Than The Heroes

1. The Joker - Suicide Squad

The Hero: Ostensibly one of either Deadshot or Harley Quinn. Traditionally depicted as villains, these two appear to be more like anti-heroes for the film, and will reign in their violence to stop a greater threat.

The Villain: The man who laughs, one of the most famous characters in all of pop culture, the Joker.

Why The Villain Will Be More Interesting: There’s possibly no acting performance more anticipated than Jared Leto’s Joker. Impossibly trying to follow in Heath Ledger’s footsteps, we all know how fascinating the Joker can be. To say nothing of the other actors or characters in the Suicide Squad itself, Joker is in a league of his own.

We’ve seen chaotic and criminal versions of the Joker but this looks to be another new interpretation, a truly homicidal one. The brief snippets we’ve seen of him show him torturing someone while spouting a deep, throaty laugh. The Squad will be inhibited in their mission, forced to act a certain way whereas the Joker is a free spirit, operating far more violently and psychotically than we've seen before.

Just a few seconds of him laughing set the internet on fire, so it’s reasonable to expect the rest of his character to be just as thrilling.
