20 Action Movie Sequels Since 2000 That Don't Suck

It was probably a little too convenient that Jason Bourne’s memory, along with his onscreen nemeses, should return as the plot demanded, but there’s no doubting that this second sequel delivers the goods.

Brought out of hiding by a journalist, Bourne’s quest to expose Operation Blackbriar leads to the expected car smashes and rooftop showdown’s, but it’s Paul Greengrass’s direction that brings the action to life. Supposedly improvised on set (to the chagrin of co-writer Tong Gilroy), Greengrass’s camera follows his actors as they run, jump and smash through windows, lending the picture a you-are-there immediacy that Bond could only dream of.

Gilroy returned for the next entry, The Bourne Legacy (which Greengrass joked should've been called The Bourne Redundancy) and the most interesting about the picture is how it fared at the box office - it took barely half of Ultimatum's $227 million domestic haul.
