10. Worst Dialogue - Transformers: Age Of Extinction
One of the many major criticisms leveled at the Transformers franchise from the very beginning has been the terrible scripts, and it seems that writer Ehren Kruger has learned absolutely nothing based on the fact that the dialogue in Age of Extinction could very well be the worst across all four movies, which is really saying something. A list of the movie's sins against scriptwriting could fill an article of its own, but from Mark Wahlberg's character constantly reminding people of the fact that he's an inventor (and sounding less convincing each time) to Titus Welliver admirably maintaining a straight face when delivering lines such as 'my face is my warrant' and 'take out your guns and shoot them', whenever a character opens their mouth something stupid usually follows. Of course, how can you discuss Age of Extinction's terrible dialogue without mentioning that the movie actually has an entire scene where a 20 year-old character explains in great detail just why he's dating a 17 year-old minor? It seems that more thought was put into that single exchange than the entire plot of the movie, which is par for the course with this franchise.
Runner Up - 300: Rise Of An Empire
300: Rise of an Empire is a sequel that essentially hits many of the same beats as its predecessor, including a never-ending barrage of clunky dialogue that is intended to come off as epic and grandiose but is usually wooden and unintentionally hilarious. Eva Green gets the movie's only memorable line, telling Sullivan Stapleton's Themistocles 'you fight much harder than you f**k'. Ouch, apply cream to burned area.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
