20 Badass Arnold Schwarzenegger Quotes
The most bad-ass one-liners from one of the most quotable actors of all time.
Perhaps more so than anyone else in Hollywood history, Arnold Schwarzenegger personifies the difference between an 'actor' and a 'movie star'. Both by his own admission and the constant criticisms aimed at him by numerous detractors over the decades, the Austrian has never been the most talented thespian, but his larger-than-life personality, natural charisma and undoubted screen presence made him one of the biggest stars in the world throughout the 1980's and 90's, with his movies to date earning almost $5bn at the box office.
Schwarzenegger also has one of the most unique and interesting life stories you're ever likely to hear; born in a small Austrian village, he went on to become a legendary bodybuilder, successful entrepreneur, A-list movie star and the 38th Governor of California before returning to Hollywood at the turn of the decade. Just as synonymous with his persona as his bulging biceps, thick accent and action movie career is his innate ability to drop a well-timed one-liner.
There is no denying that Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most quotable movie stars of all time, and to prove it here are his twenty most badass quotes spanning his entire career.
20. The 6th Day (2000)
"If you really believe that then you should clone yourself while you're still alive... so you can go f**k yourself."
The 6th Day is nowhere near one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best movies, wasting an interesting premise in favor of a standard big-budget genre flick. While the potential was there for a great sci-fi thriller, the movie instead uses the idea of human cloning as an excuse to shoehorn in plenty of standard Arnie one-liners.
Schwarzenegger's Adam Gibson comes face-to-face with Tony Goldwyn's hammy Michael Drucker, who is trying to justify his reasons for human cloning, wondering if he would be able to understand Gibson's 'unique perspective' if he cloned himself. Of course, this being Arnie, instead of offering a reasoned theoretical analysis he simply suggests that the villain should fornicate with himself instead.
