10. The Suicide Squad

It wasn't surprising to anyone with a pulse that James Gunn's The Suicide Squad was a major improvement upon the 2016 David Ayer film, but few could've anticipated quite how fantastically it would turn out.

Even with Gunn's penchant for witty ensemble action flicks, this is one of the most bravura and shamelessly wild superhero movies ever made, with the writer-director making it hilariously clear that he was basically given the green light to do whatever the hell he wanted.

Between the absolutely insane action, hilarious banter, and fantastic cast - especially Idris Elba and Margot Robbie - this is a major breath of fresh air for a genre that's too often prone to playing it safe.
