20 Feel Good Movies You Need To Watch Now
13. The Paddington Movies (2014/2017)
In a world full of hatred and conflict, every single one of us could be a little bit more like Paddington. If you’re born and bred British, these films will make you proud of your heritage. The first movie establishes how Paddington made it in London through the help of the Browns and was able to get a new home and family of his own. The sequel has even more creative freedom since the titular character and the Brown family are already well developed – it’s an adventure story which embarks on Paddington going through varied jobs in order to buy 'the perfect present' for his aunt Lucy.
It doesn’t matter which film you watch because they’re equal in charm, wit, poignancy and good values. The Paddington films are also excellent at capturing the best of British – it dismisses the bad reputation of London by showcasing the most beautiful parts of the capital city as well as the best of England's humour and culture. But most of all, the main moral “if we’re kind and polite, the world will be right” has so much truth to it but is not practiced enough in the real world which is why the Paddington franchise is as important as it is entertaining.
