20 Greatest Movie Moments Of The 2010s

11. Get Out: Chris' Escape

Get Out is not only the decade's best horror film, but it's also got one of the decade's most brilliant climaxes.

Chris Washington's (Daniel Kaluuya) escape from the Armitage household where he is being held captive (and from their horrific plan to surgically implant parts of white people's brains into black people and therefore possess their bodies) is one of the most intense, powerful and terrifying film endings of recent times.

It's unbearably suspenseful, claustrophobic and shocking, especially given the nightmarish fate that awaits Chris if he fails to escape, and it's also full of brilliant symbolism and unforgettable visuals, which is another reminder of how ingenious Get Out really is. Once Chris does finally escape, it's like a multi-ton weight being lifted off your back; the relief if absolutely overpowering.
