20 Horror Films That Will Chill You To The Bone In 2015
8. The Nightmare
Expanding his style from the short film The S From Hell (about unnerving corporate logos) and Room 237 (about people obsessed with signs they feel are hidden in Stanley Kubricks The Shining), filmmaker Rodney Aschers blend of staged recreations, voiceover and artful composition has secured himself a position as one of the most unique documentarians working today. Aschers next film will be another docu-horror, and one which focuses on a different sort of real-life terror. The Nightmare explores the dreadful phenomena of sleep paralysis through the recollections of several people who suffer from it. If there are few things less interesting than hearing other people talk about their dreams, then The Nightmare has pulled off something uniquely impressive. The film has been praised as one of the scariest documentaries ever by more than a few critics and is sure to turn your evenings into a hell that few would understand.
