13. Scream VII
Even accepting the incredibly unfortunate dismissal of lead Melissa Barrera from Scream VII and subsequent departure of co-star Jenna Ortega, it'll be interesting to see what's done with the sequel, which is now set to focus on a returning Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell).
Intriguingly, franchise writer Kevin Williamson will step into the director's chair for the first time in the series, while at present Courteney Cox is still in negotiations to reprise her role of Gale Weathers.
There are many reasons to be skeptical about the new Scream, especially with Sidney's story being satisfactorily tied off at the end of the fifth film, but given the series' generally solid track record and Williamson's involvement, it's also hard to write it off entirely.
No firm release date is set yet, but with shooting recently being pushed to the end of the year, it's looking increasingly likely that Scream VII will drop in early 2026.
