20 Most Anticipated Movies For The Rest Of 2026

14. The Social Reckoning

Succession Jeremy Strong
HBO

While there are undeniably those disappointed that this sequel to The Social Network won't be directed by David Fincher nor will Jesse Eisenberg reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg, it's still a film absolutely overflowing with name talent.

Aaron Sorkin, who won an Oscar for writing the original, is both writer and director this time around, with a story focused around the 2021 Facebook leak by whistleblower Frances Haugen that will also incorporate the January 6 United States Capitol attack. And while it's tough to see Eisenberg replaced as Facebook founder Zuckerberg, Jeremy Strong sure is one hell of a substitute, with early reports suggesting he puts in quite the buzzy, potentially Oscar-worthy performance.

The rest of the cast is stacked, too, with the ensemble including Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Bill Burr, Wunmi Mosaku, Billy Magnussen, and Betty Gilpin.

Though The Social Reckoning has quite the predecessor to live up to, expect it to be one of the year's most talked-about films either way.

The Social Reckoning releases on October 9.
