20 Most Anticipated Upcoming Horror Movies

American auteur Steven Soderbergh is a tricky one. Not too long ago, he'd declared his retirement from film; and yet, last summer he brought us heist movie Logan Lucky, and this spring he's back with yet another new production. Seems you just can't keep a good filmmaker down.

Soderbergh has veered toward horror territory before, with Contagion and Side Effects; and Unsane seems likely to continue a similar path of medical/pharmaceutical-themed terror, centring on a troubled woman who finds herself institutionalised, and is confronted by her greatest fears.

As well as having a title which pushes the boundaries of grammar (and was previously an alternate US title for Dario Argento's 1982 horror Tenebrae), Unsane also looks poised to blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Sounds intriguing, and/or horrifying.

The cast includes Claire Foy, Juno Temple and Aimee Mullins; plus some confirmed horror royalty in Carrie's Amy Irving, and The Blair Witch Project's Joshua Leonard.

Release: 23 March.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
