Here's one movie just about nobody expected to receive stronger reviews than The Predator, A Wrinkle in Time and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
If you saw the trailer for this Netflix rom-com ahead of its summer release, you may have summarily dismissed it as a totally flat, generic and charmless genre effort unworthy of your attention.
Shockingly, it went on to score near-universal praise from shocked critics, who lauded the chemistry between leads Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell alongside Katie Silberman's sharp script.
It just goes to show that while Netflix does indeed clog their streaming platform up with countless low-effort genre films, every so often a charming banger will come totally out of nowhere.
