7. Rambo: Last Blood (27%)

Sylvester Stallone has had a surprising amount of success revamping his own long-standing franchises: Rocky Balboa (77%) kickstarted a successful run of new films in the Rocky/Creed franchise, and 2008's fourth Rambo movie (a criminally underrated 38%) was by far the best since the first.

And so, it was easy to have faith in Sly when he promised that the fifth Rambo, Last Blood, would be a No Country for Old Men-inspired western about an over-the-hill John Rambo (Stallone) taking on the Mexican drug cartel.

With solid director Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) at the helm and a persuasive set of trailers, there wasn't much reason to expect anything less than mixed reviews at worst. Oh, how naive we all were.

Last Blood ended up scoring just 27%, making it the worst-reviewed film in the series, with critics decrying its skittish tone, generic plot, and questionable politics. What a letdown.

Hell, even the author of the original First Blood novel, David Morrell, chimed in to pile on the movie, claiming to be "embarrassed" to have his name associated with it.
