Netflix's hugely popular Fear Street trilogy of horror movies peaked in its first installment, which climaxed with one of the most nauseating and creative death scenes of the entire year.

Poor Kate's (Julia Rehwald) number gets called when the Shadyside Killer grabs her and shoves her head-first through a bread slicer.

Rather than show any semblance of restraint, director Leigh Janiak stays with Kate as her skull is ripped to shreds and the remains of her scalp emerge out the other side.

Questions of realism aside, it's fantastically executed from a technical perspective, and was sure to leave even the most hardened gore-hounds wondering who hurt Janiak.
