20 Movies Since 2010 So Awful They're Actually Harrowing

Left Behind Nicolas Cage
Freestyle Releasing

Hello again to Nicolas Cage, who in this movie is unusually subdued and boring, so it's at least a different kind of awful performance. A religious movie which makes every religious person in it look foolish and a thriller lacking in thrills, this involves people randomly disappearing and that's pretty much the entire plot.

Much of the film is set on a plane Nicolas Cage is flying, one populated with unwatchable actors who all speak some of the worst dialogue in recent memory. Despite a suspenseful climax this offers the least-exciting apocalyptic event ever put to film, and sadly sets up a sequel at the end - though mercifully no sequel has appeared.

Every aspect of the film is awful and this is without a doubt the worst film of 2014, which was overall a decent year for films. No matter how intriguing the bad reviews are, stay away. This went direct-to-DVD in the UK, so luckily most audiences here won’t have seen it.
