The Dark Knight Rises has been divisive over the years, but time is actually being rather kind to Christopher Nolan's trilogy-closer and, looking back on it now, The Dark Knight Rises is a very good concluding chapter to The Dark Knight Trilogy.

It has a great cast, a refreshingly soulful tone and features some of the best film-making Christopher Nolan has ever done. The opening plane-set action scene is unforgettably brilliant and although the film never reaches that level of awesomeness again, it comes very close many times throughout its massive run-time.

There are some issues with the plot but this really isn't the disappointing movie some said it was. It doesn't live up to The Dark Knight, but this is still an enormously well-done and fun blockbuster which actually holds up better than the first chapter of the trilogy, Batman Begins.
