20 Recent Movies That Ruined INCREDIBLE Plots

Kathryn Bigelow's A House of Dynamite was positioned to be one of last year's most thrilling films, given that it's centered around the U.S. government's frantic attempts to intercept a nuclear missile fired at Chicago by an unknown party.

The tripwire-tense first act focuses on White House Situation Room officer Olivia Walker (Rebecca Ferguson), but moments before the missile is primed to make impact, we're ripped away and shown the events from two more perspectives, culminating in that of the President of the United States (Idris Elba) himself.

Ultimately the POTUS is tasked with deciding whether to launch a retaliatory attack against potential culprits, but before he makes his decision, Bigelow cuts the film off.

More to the point, we also never see whether the missile makes impact with Chicago or not, as left masses of Netflix subscribers absolutely pissed when the film debuted last October.

While the film's defenders argue that the lack of closure is exactly the point of the film, that did little to salve the many who felt like they'd wasted two hours waiting for a non-conclusion.

And so, basically every discussion about the film says precious little about its terrific performances and taut direction, instead devolving into an argument over how terrible (or not) its ending is.
