20 Rotten Tomatoes Predictions For 2022's Biggest Movies

17. Morbius (36%)

Buzz Lightyear
Sony Pictures

Morbius is one of the trickier movies on this list to call, honestly. The trailers don't make a particularly compelling case for the Jared Leto-starring superhero movie being great, and so it's easy to predict that this will score mixed reviews at best - if not closer to the negativity of the original Venom (30%).

There is one potential secret weapon in the movie's cachet, though: if it has overt links to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially amid rumours that it was recently delayed to shoot extra scenes related to Spider-Man: No Way Home, that can surely only boost its standing with critics.

Still, director Daniel Espinosa has two Fresh (Easy Money, Life) and two Rotten (Safe House, Child 44) films to his name to date, and seems to very much be a filmmaker beholden to the quality of his scripts.

With Morbius being penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless - who previously co-wrote Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, and Power Rangers - it isn't terribly easy to be optimistic about what we're going to get.

This feels destined for mixed-to-negative reviews.
