20 Saddest Moments In Marvel's Cinematic Universe (So Far)

9. Romanoff€™s Revelation

The evolution €“ if it can be called that €“ of Natasha Romanoff€™s character in Age Of Ultron has been the source of much consternation on the interwebs since the Avengers sequel landed in cinemas a couple of months ago. The disgruntled were up in arms over Black Widow€™s treatment in Ultron, complaining that Marvel €“ so frequently questioned regarding its perceived gender inequality €“ had reduced their flagship female character to a love interest and, God forbid, damsel in distress. Whatever your take on the burgeoning romance between Romanoff and Banner, their romantic subplot supplied some of the movie€™s more tender moments, as amply demonstrated when the team took a breather at Hawkeye€™s safe house. When Banner spurned Romanoff€™s advances, citing the impracticality of his siring children among other reasons, she revealed that the Red Room of her childhood included a graduation ceremony in which candidates were sterilised to make them that much more efficient as killers. It was an insight into Black Widow€™s horrific upbringing that only increased demand for a solo outing at some point in the future.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
