20 TERRIFYING Scenes In TERRIBLE Horror Movies
16. The Tooth Fairy Attacks - Darkness Falls
Darkness Falls is a rather daft horror film centered around a man, Kyle Walsh (Chaney Kley), returning home to take on the entity which killed his mother 12 years earlier, and said entity just so happens to be the Tooth Fairy. Yup.
Most of Darkness Falls is a moldy, been-there, done-that supernatural horror film that duly lives down to expectations, but at least it delivers one hell of a spooky opening scene.
At the start of the movie we see the murder of Kyle's mother at the hands of the Tooth Fairy, and director Jonathan Liebesman does a superb job giving the creature a memorably horrifying introduction.
It begins as a fairly standard bump-in-the-night scenario where a young Kyle (Joshua Anderson) is seemingly preyed upon, but the twist of course is that Kyle's mother is actually the victim, being killed while a terrified Kyle hides in the bathroom.
The shot of Matilda aka the Tooth Fairy (Antony Burrows) floating above the bathroom door while a traumatised Kyle cowers in the tub is a thing of cinematic beauty - quite unlike almost everything that follows.
