20 Things You Didn't Know About Raising Arizona
3. The Coens Brought Most Of Their Production Crew From Blood Simple Over To Raising Arizona
Even as young filmmakers, it was clear that the Coens were keen on frequent collaboration.
Despite being polar opposite films in terms of tone and style, the duo's first two films featured many of the same key crew members. This included co-producer Mark Silverman, production designer Jane Musky, assistant director Jane Musky and cinematographer Barry Sonnenfeld - who would go on to direct the Men in Black trilogy.
That iconic soundtrack is also thanks to Carter Burwell, who has now scored 16 Coen brothers films. Though he's never been nominated for any major awards for these collaborations, his close work helps create wild, unique sounds for each film. Burwell has said he prefers when the Coens "have no idea" what they want from a score, as he is able to get to work on wacky styles they wouldn't have otherwise requested.
