20 Things You Didn't Know About The Rocky Horror Picture Show

2. Vincent Price Turned Down The Role Of The Criminologist

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Tim Curry

As deliciously entertaining as Charles Gray was in the role of the criminologist/narrator, the part was actually originally offered to none other than B-movie horror legend Vincent Price.

Sadly Price had to turn the role down due to scheduling conflicts with other projects, despite pursuing the part after seeing the West End musical and loving it.

Though Gray did a remarkable job in the role, one can only imagine the mapcap energy Price would've brought to the table. Given that Price's movie schedule was jam-packed during the mid-70s, it's anyone's guess which film clashed with this one.
