20 Things You Didn't Know About The Social Network

14. None Of The Cast Met Their Real-life Counterparts, Except Timberlake

The factual accuracy of The Social Network has been called into question numerous times, with many of the real-life figures disliking the way they were portrayed. We'll never know for sure whether they are true depictions or not, but the chances are they are a bit more fictitious than fact.

This is because David Fincher insisted on his cast not meeting the people they were playing, instructing them to not get distracted and focus on his and Sorkin's version of the characters.

And even though that's what they did, it was too late for Justin Timberlake, who had already met Sean Parker during the audition phase. It's understandable that Timberlake would do this, as he was the only non-actor in the cast but it's unlikely it altered his final performance too much.
