Sound effects are not always exclusive to one particular film and studios often hold an extensive back catalogue of sound recordings to assist with later productions.

In Never Say Never Again, the missiles that SPECTRE hijack are fired over the British countryside and out to sea, without alerting the civilian population. A jamming signal is then transmitted by the organisation's electronics expert, Kovacs (Milos Kirek), which brings the missiles down in the ocean without detonating them so that Largo's divers may recovered them.

The sound effects for the nuclear missiles in flight - specifically as they fly over a beach and out to sea - were actually recycled six years later for use in Tim Burton's 1989 film, Batman. They represented the whine of the Batwing's engines whilst Michael Keaton's Batman attacks Jack Nicholson's The Joker.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
