20 Upcoming Action Movies That Could Beat Mad Max: Fury Road

16. Spectre

Release Date: November 6 Why It Could Beat Fury Road: It's just as well that Bond's 24th outing brings back most of the principal components from Skyfall, given that it was not only the secret agent's most successful entry to date, but it also featured some of the most blistering set-pieces in the series' 50-year history. With Sam Mendes returning to direct, acclaimed cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (Interstellar) shooting and various leaks detailing set-pieces involving parachutes, helicopters, epic car chases across Europe and train fights, it sounds like Mendes and Daniel Craig have all they need to craft another solid gold Bond film. How Likely Is It?: 7/10. Yes, there's no Roger Deakins lighting things so beautifully this time, but van Hoytema is a stellar replacement, and like even the lesser Bond films, it's sure to offer up plenty of exhilarating, globe-trotting mayhem. Though its typically "classy" style means it won't be as chaotic or eccentric as Mad Max, it could very well be an action classic all on its own.
