20 Worst Movies Of 2018 (So Far)

Patrick Beattie Edmondson
Buena Vista

This is the movie that replaced Ant-Man and the Wasp's U.K. release during the World Cup, but even removing that from the equation, it's a woefully unambitious film about an achingly middle-class woman (Jennifer Saunders' daughter, Beattie Edmondson) being bequeathed a pet pug by a dead relative. Hi-jinks ensue!

The dog's cute and Edmondson has her charming moments, but nothing in the plot or characterisation is remotely memorable or interesting: it's a movie propped up almost entirely by the titular canine.

It's about as low-effort and wildly unnecessary as British cinema comes. Why not save yourself 90 minutes and the price of a ticket by just watching videos of Doug the Pug instead?

Worst Moment: Jennifer Saunders cooks some baked goods, prompting another character to walk up to her and declare, "Nice baps." Sigh.
