20 Worst Movies Of 2018

16. Slender Man

When Hollywood turns to creepy pastas for source material, you know there's something wrong. Board games were all well and good and even toys get a pass, but crawling Internet message boards and taking stories from there is just lazy. Particularly when you're going to make something this bad out of it.

Slender Man was mired in controversy from the get-go - thanks to a real-life crime tied inherently to the meme - which is perhaps why the studio decided to go for a PG-13 rating so that it couldn't be too provocative. If that was their agenda, they passed with flying colours, because Slender Man takes a good idea and sucks everything out of it.

It's a boring husk of a movie whose creepy moments are few and far between and whose script should never have got passed the first stage of checks.
