25 Most Hotly Anticipated Movies Of Summer 2015
6. Ant-Man
Release Date: 17th July
Despite The Avengers hitting screens for the second time, Phase 2 isn't yet over, as Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas are yet to unveil the smallest project the MCU has yet seen.
The film - which was rather unceremoniously taken off Edgar Wright after years of gestation - will follow Rudd's master thief Scott Lang who is recruited by Douglas' Hank Pym to break into his former company and stop a nefarious plot by Corey Stoll.
Selling Point
Comic book movies - and especially those by Marvel - aren't likely to be bad in real terms. The company has built a self-fulfilling success bubble, populated by great talent and even greater marketing, and even if Ant-Man is a comparatively tough sell, it will likely only fail in relative terms.
And Paul Rudd is a genius pick for a likeable lead character, even if he's an odd choice for a superhero.
Reservations
You can accept Groot and Rocket Raccoon and scarlet witches and Jesus robots, but it's still hard to accept a hero the size of a beetle who can command an army of ants.
