25 Star Wars Actors Who Are No Longer With Us

17. Shelagh Fraser

Shelagh Fraser is, of course, best known to Star Wars fans as Luke's Aunt Beru, who along with her husband Owen raised the young Skywalker boy on the desert planet Tatooine. She killed in the original film by Stormtroopers searching for the stolen Death Star plans, though the killing itself takes place off-screen. With just over seventy acting credits to her name, Fraser performed in many ITV and BBC productions, and was specifically a part of several mystery shows including Armchair Theatre, Mystery Hall, The Body Stealers, And No One Could Save Her, etc. She also appeared in over 500 radio plays, wrote two children's books, and was a member of the BBC Repertory Company. She passed away in August 2000 at age 79
