25 Things You Didn’t Know About Pulp Fiction

7. The Secret Meaning Behind The Name Of Tim Roth's "Pumpkin"

Tim Roth plays the diner thief referred to as Pumpkin by his girlfriend Yolanda/Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer), but there's a sneaky meaning behind that name hiding in plain sight that even hardcore Tarantino fans may have missed.

Remember, Roth played Mr. Orange in Tarantino's previous film Reservoir Dogs, and pumpkins are orange. Pumpkins and oranges are also both fruits. You can see where we're going with this.

While it's possible this was a coincidence, Tarantino's well-noted attention-to-detail makes it decidedly more likely that this was a cute nod to Roth's prior role. It's a low-key mind-blower, and you'll kick yourself for never noticing.
