35 Star Trek Actors Who Died In 2022

14. Mary Mara

Mary Mara was almost unrecognisable under the make-up when she appeared as a Sphere Builder in Star Trek: Enterprise. She was best known, however, to this writer as Loretta Sweets, the sex worker with a heart of gold in the early seasons of ER. Her son was played by none other than a very young Jake Lloyd, before he starred as Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace.

Mara was also well known for her role as Inspector Bryn Carson on Nash Bridges. While appearing in many other productions, she also performed on the soundtrack in an episode of Criminal Minds as well.

Mara retired from acting in 2020, splitting her time between the two coasts of the United States. Sadly, she drowned in the St. Lawrence River while swimming. She was 61 years old.
