Now, we've all seen our fair share of Danny DeVito memes, with one of the funniest being the fan petition to get him cast as Wolverine in the MCU. The man isn't just a fantastic and decorated actor but also a beloved icon on the internet. Thus, if you want someone to counteract all of this negative fan reaction, then you can't go wrong with the heavily memeable and wholesome DeVito.

Besides being loved by fans, he's also an excellent choice for the role as his comedy skills are fantastic, and he's got a gruff/amusing voice that would take the character in a fascinating direction. His version of Mario would be witty and charming but also angry and cynical, making for a hilarious combo.

Plus, Nintendo missed a trick by not casting him, as his Always Sunny partner in crime (Charlie Day) has been cast in the role of Luigi - a choice the internet was far happier to hear than they were with Pratt.
